Where is Midland Crossroads?
The Midland Crossroads Research Center is located at Iowa
State University in Ames, Iowa. Ames is located in central
Iowa, which is in the central United States.
What is the Midland Crossroads Research Center?
A full-service place to rest and relax along the Internet
super highway with outbound connections to all points: north, south, east and west.
Midland Crossroads began as a series of links that were commonly
used in an internet tour course at Iowa State entitled the "World
Wide Web Virtual World Tour" and were later also used in the "World
Wide Web Homepage Helper Workshop" as sample links. The links were
popular enough that they began to have a life of their own and, hence, the
Midland Crossroads Research Center was created in January 1995.
The Midland Crossroads facility was remodeled and reconstructed
from June-November 1995, and remodeled again in July 1997, and
once again remodeled in April 1999. It's been tinkered with since then
in 2001 and 2005.
Who is responsible for this?
